Concept |
|
An American
musical in the traditional sense, THE
COTTON CLUB was conceived to bring back the
delightful 1920's Jazz Age featuring original
songs and some of the most memorable
compositions of Ellington, Calloway and
Armstrong. Audiences will be swept away to
another time - a great chapter in American
History known as The Roaring Twenties - to
embark on a journey spanning the era of
Prohibition, The Harlem Renaissanse and into the
Great Depression.

Romeo and
Juliet meets
Gladiator in this
new musical about love,
betrayal, revenge and all things
Roman.

The year is 79 A.D. Pompeii is a
Roman city bursting with life, renowned for
its hospitality and entertainment. Adonis, a
young noble from Greece, has chosen to
settle in Pompeii to enjoy life to the
fullest. When Adonis falls for the charms for
a Roman girl, a bitter and jelous rival sets
out to destroy him. Having failed at multiple
attempts to eliminate Adonis, the Egyptian
hatches a wicked scheme that ends with
murdering the brother of Adonis's
fiancee, for which he frames Adonis. Adonis
is thrown in jail. As was the Roman custom at
the time, Adonis is made to fight as a
Gladiator for his life. At the peak of the
fight Mount Vesuvius
erupts.
